Tractor-driving farmer falls down embankment
A farmer was hospitalised after he suffered an accident with his tractor yesterday (Weds).The 48-year-old man was driving his tractor up a pass road near Taxenbach in Salzburgs Pinzgau region when the vehicle and the manure tank it was towing overturned on a bend.The farmer sustained undisclosed injuries when the tractor and the trailer plunged down a descent, with him in the drivers cabin. He was taken to a clinic in Schwarzach.Only some weeks ago, an elderly farmer died after he was run down by his own tractor.The 70-year-old man stopped the vehicle to feed one of his donkeys on a pasture in Sierning near Linz, Upper Austria, when it started rolling away because the man had forgotten to apply the handbrake before getting out. It knocked the man down and ran over him.
