Brit skier dies in Tyrol

A 50-year-old British holidaymaker died while skiing with friends in the Tyrolean Alps, police said today (Fri).Officials in Sölden said the man may have skied into a fence post at the bottom of a “red piste” in the glacier resort on Wednesday.The victim – identified by authorities as Stuart M. from Kent – was skiing with three others when the tragedy happened.Other skiers, including an off-duty nurse, tried to revive him but it is understood he was dead on arrival at hospital.Police have appealed to witnesses of the incident to come forward.
