Schwarzenegger terminates marriage
Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife are splitting up in their 25th year of marriage, it has emerged.The Austrian-born “Terminator” star and Maria Shriver, an author and charity campaigner, announced in a joint statement today (Tues), that they were separating “while we work on the future of our relationship.”The pair went on: “This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together.”Schwarzenegger, who governed the US state of California between 2003 and January 2011, and Shriver married in 1986. The parents-of-four did not say whether they would divorce but explained they were living separately. “We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the centre of both of our lives,” they added.Shrivers mother Eunice Kennedy who died two years ago was the sister of assassinated US President John F. Kennedy. Her dad Robert Sargent Shriver jr. passed away last January.Schwarzenegger said after leaving politics he was ready to star in films again. The 63-year-old is reportedly lined up to star in “Cry Macho”, an upcoming drama movie. Rumour also has it that he was cooperating with Hollywood industry businesspeople about producing a fifth “Terminator” movie. Schwarzenegger, who was born in the small Styrian town of Thal, reportedly wants to play the legendary cyborg after having starred in the first three parts of the acclaimed action film series.Plans to open a museum dedicated to Schwarzeneggers life in bodybuilding, acting and politics at the house where he was born and grew up have been postponed for years. Organisers argue they want to wait and give the star a chance to attend the opening.
