Washington airports seek cooperation with VIA
Two US American airports have signalled an interest in collaborating with Austrias largest aerodrome.The Sun Gazette reports that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) prepares to approach bosses of Vienna International Airport (VIA or VIE) about the possibility of a partnership. The MWAA pursues a cooperation between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) with VIA, according to the article.The daily reports that the MWAA was especially impressed by VIAs “unique and profitable” VIP passenger terminal.DCA which handles around 23 million passengers per year and IAD (18 million annual passengers) could also soon start partnerships with other airports all over the world as negotiations in the MWAA continue.VIA registered almost 20 million customers in 2010. With more than 1.6 million passengers on departing and arriving planes, Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart (SZG) was Austrias second-busiest aerodrome last year.
