OMV and Zumtobel top staff branding ranking
An energy sector group and a lighting systems manufacturer are tied for first place in a survey assessing how Austrian businesses use their homepages to hire the best-qualified staff.Milan-based corporate communications consultancy Lundquist announced today (Mon) oil and gas firm OMV and Dornbirn-based Zumtobel headed the first Austrian edition of its Employer Branding Online Awards.OMV, which was established in 1956, has around 31,400 employees. The company, which has its headquarters in Vienna, achieved a turnover of 23.32 billion Euros in 2010.Zumtobel had a turnover of almost 909 million Euros in the first nine months of its 2010/2011 business year. It garnered earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) of 66.7 million Euros.Upper Austrian steel industry giant Voestalpine came third in LundquistÂ’s study ahead of fireproofing materials maker RHI, industrial technology company Andritz, Erste Bank and electricity provider Verbund.Lundquist explained its research showed that a majority of firms “failed to exploit the potential of their corporate website and the strength of their brands to attract and retain the best employees.”
