Red Bull ‘target Zé Roberto’

Red Bull football department boss Dietmar Beiersdorfer has set his sights on Hamburger SV star Zé Roberto, a newspaper report claims.German daily Bild reports today (Tues) that Beiersdorfer – a former HSV player and executive manager – offered the Brazilian a three-year contract at Red Bull New York and an annual net income of 3.65 million Euros.This comes just months after the 35-year-old midfielder was linked with a move to Red Bull Salzburg who currently top the Austrian Bundesliga.Sports newspapers recently claimed Red Bull New York were also trying to sign Real Madrid legend Raúl, Red Bull Salzburg striker Alexander Zickler and FC Barcelona ace Thierry Henry.Red Bull New York was a founding member of the US Major Soccer League under the name New York / New Jersey Metro Stars in 1996, but was taken over by the Austrian energy drink maker four years ago.Red Bull, the Salzburg-based company headed by Dietrich Mateschitz, is the biggest Austrian brand. The firm took over SV Austria Salzburg to turn it into Red Bull Salzburg in 2005. It also owns clubs in Brazil and Leipzig, Germany.
