BBQ claim as tourist knocks down official

A 23-year-old Romanian faces legal consequences for driving his car into an Alpine authority official.The 67-year-old Austrian ordered the young man to stop as he was travelling on a cycling path outside Inzing near Innsbruck in Tyrol on Sunday afternoon. The Romanian however hit his accelerator, knocked the man down and drove off.He was tracked down by the police in the city centre of Innsbruck some hours later. A police officer said today (Tues) that the tourist claimed he was looking for a place to barbecue with pals. The man was not put in detention, but must brace himself for charges for harming an official and breaching traffic rules.The Tyrolean mountain service clerk sustained minor injuries in the incident.
