Kids gourmet holidays
Children are centre stage at the "Via Culinaria 4 Kids" at the Fuschlsee where a culinary voyage of discovery is on offer from 1 July until 30 September.
Kids are being introduced to various food experiences via the character Kuhnibert, and the expert cooks will be giving the young gourmets over a five-day period a chance to experience the taste of the Salzkammergut.
So that families can enjoy the experience together the offer is for two children accompanied by two adults.
A child friendly "GourMini-Landkarte" shows the way to the various five gourmet points.
From the Monday herbal hiking at the Mayerlehenhütte on the Gruberalm in Hintersee the young food lovers will learn about herbs and how to collect them. (9.00 until 11.00, 25 Euro per Family).
The Rumingmühle that was built in 1872 has a weekly invite on Tuesdays and Fridays to bake bread not just in putting it in the oven but also in making the flour and all the other processes necessary to create a finished loaf including making the batter- from 14.00 onwards, for 6 Euro per Family).
It's everything to do with sausages on Wednesday at the Hundsmarktmühle in Thalgau, together with master butcher Christian Santner will help the kids to prepare their own sausages. They are then invited to cook them. (14.00 to 16.00, 15 Euro per family).
On Thursday kids can earn bread baking diploma and on Fridays in the 500-year-old Rauchhaus Mühlgrub children can cook up concoctions on an open fire from 13.30 onwards, (12 Euro per famiy).
Alternatively the family package includes five nights in a family room including breakfast with daily participation in the "Via Culinaria 4 Kids" program – plus a free Salzkammergut-Erlebniscard offering many attractions and access to the Fuschlseebad - as well as a present for the children is on offer for €569.
