Great expectations for summer tourism season in Vorarlberg

The Vorarlberg tourism industry is currently riding high after a record breaking winter season, and the summer season is expected to follow that same trend.

A symbolic threshold was crossed in the summer of 2011 when, for the first time ever, more than one million tourists spent the summer in Vorarlberg.

Tourism Director Christian Schützinger said that a similar outcome expected this year as well (2012).

The small farm businesses are well placed and prepared, E-bike tours through the province will be on offer, and cultural festivals for all audiences will be held all summer.

Schützinger said that they wanted to attract tourists from Germany and Switzerland again – just like last year. Visitor numbers rising from the Netherlands are not as likely, because of the recession there.

For the first time, Vorarlberg also has an own "tourism-app" for smart phones which will show the user a list of holidays, events and things to do in the area.
