180,000 tickets sold for Alpine Skiing World Championship

180,000 tickets have been sold two days before the start of the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Schladming, Styria. The organisers estimate that 400,000 people in total will attend the eleven competitions.

According to the organisers of the event, the ticket sales increased after the race in Kitzbuehel took place at the weekend. They believe that there will be many visitors to the first race of the Alpine Skiing World Championships on 5 February.

10,000 tickets have been sold for the first race, the women’s Super-G and 20,000 for the men’s Super-G on 6 February. It is possible that 30,000 people in total will come to each of the 11 competitions.

The most popular tickets have been for the men’s downhill race on 9 February, the men’s giant slalom on 15 February and the last men’s slalom on 17 February. There are, however, tickets still available in the gold category.
