Bundesliga top teams drop points

Sturm Graz still have a chance of winning their third Bundesliga league title as the three top teams dropped points over the weekend.

The team of Franco Foda remain in third but narrowed the gap by beating SV Ried 1-0 on Saturday.

Austria Vienna, now in third place, embarrassed themselves on the same day as they lost 0-1 to struggling LASK Linz.

Red Bull Salzburg keep the lead but suffered a setback too since the star-studded team coached by Huub Stevens only garnered one point against Magna Wiener Neustadt on Saturday (1-1).

Rapid Vienna meanwhile have so far had a terrible 2010 as the team of Peter Pacult failed to seal their first victory in the fourth match after the winter break. Kapfenberg won one point in yesterday’s (Sun) 2-2 against the favoured vice-champions.

Tail lights Austria Kärnten lost to Mattersburg 2-4 on Saturday.

The Bundesliga table after 23 rounds:

Red Bull Salzburg, 49 points
Rapid Vienna, 43
Austria Vienna, 43
Sturm Graz, 42
Mattersburg, 30
Magna Wiener Neustadt, 29
SV Ried, 28
LASK Linz, 24
Kapfenberg, 23
Austria Kärnten, 7
