Tram and rubbish truck collide injuring four

Four people were injured in Vienna when a tram and a rubbish collection truck collided today (Monday).

The accident occurred in Vienna’s Döbling district when the driver of a rubbish truck failed to see the tram from the line D, and before it could brake crashed into the tram.

Both drivers as well as two passengers in the tram were slightly injured.

Due to the impact the tram was derailed and substantial damage was caused.

The tram service was interrupted whilst the accident was cleared and a bus replacement service was used for passengers.
