One killed three injured in Glocknerstraße accidents
One motorbiker was killed and another three injured in two separate motorbike crashes on the high Alpine road the Glocknerstraße yesterday (Thurs)
The man who died, a 59-year-old German, was travelling with a motor-biker group up the mountain road from Ferleiten in Pinzgau.
The accident happened when the man's foot rest hit the floor - sending the motorbike out of control during an overtaking manoeuvre. He was killed after he was flung thirty metres through the air before crashing into a wall.
The man died at the scene form his injuries. His wife who was riding on the back of his bike was airlifted to hospital in Salzburg in a serious condition.
In another accident two motorbikers were injured after colliding in the middle of a road.
The two who were injured were a 44-year-old Czech who was riding up the mountain road and a 41-year-old Slovakian who was riding down.
