Search continues for missing Vienna boy

The search continues today for the 10-year-old boy from Vienna who went missing on the North Sea holiday island of Amrum on Sunday.

More than 50 rescuers are involved in the search including helicopters, boats and search and rescue dogs.  Every inch of the twenty square kilometre German island is being scoured in search for the child.

A search campaign has also been launched throughout Germany on posters and on tv as well as on Facebook.

Sebastian, 10, disappeared from the village of Wittdün at around 6 pm on Sunday. He was last seen playing on an adventure playground near the holiday home where he was staying.

Witnesses who last saw Sebastian report he was playing with another child at around 6pm.
Police are now looking for this child. Police spokesperson Kristin Stielow in Amrum said: "Perhaps the missing boy told the child he was playing with what he was going to do for the rest of the day. Or maybe he said something about who he had met.

"But we are also appealing for people in the area to have a look at their holiday photos and videos to see if they reveal any clues. Poeple keep giving us clues but none of them have proved useful as yet."

Stielow said: "We are not giving up. We are following any leads we can."

Investigators are not ruling out that he may now be on the mainland of Germany.

Sebastian has long, curly, blond hair. He was last seen barefoot  wearing jeans and a coloured horizontally striped T-shirt long-sleeved fleece jumper.
