Abramovich may be planning Austrian move - ORF

Austrian national television the ORF has been reporting rumours that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is planning to buy a home in the Austrian Lake District after he was spotted twice in the picture postcard Alpine Wolfgangsee.

He was first spotted in the area in March and now he's been spotted again in the same area – travelling with a very small group.

The owner of the Cafe Nannerl in nearby St Gilgen, Michael Weiss, said: "He didn't stand out – you would never know that he was such a wealthy man. Some people say he has already bought a property and wants to use it for his children."

Locals said he had also purchased a book about the Salzkammergut, known as the Austrian Lake District.

The Russian arrived in Salzburg airport on board his Boeing 767.
