Natasha Kampusch as a horror film

Two Italian filmmakers have made a horror film inspired by the life of Austrian cellar girl Natascha Kampusch.

The Manetti brothers filmed the horror film Paura 3D - which is set to hit Italian cinemas soon - and they claim they based the story on the horror story of Kampusch.

"We read Natascha's biography '3096 Days' and were completely fascinated. Her story inspired us to make the film," said Marco, 44 who made the film with brother Antonio Manetti, 41.

The 3D horror film is about three youths who manage to get into a deserted old villa with a swimming pool where they decide to spend their summer.

They then come across a kidnapped teenage girl who is locked in the cellar - and then they capture her torturer when he returns.
