Cannon accident injured bridegroom
An Austrian bridegroom-to-be ended up with second degree burns over 50 per cent of his body including his arms and face after he went to fire a ceremonial cannon at Wolfsberg in Austria.
The miniature cannons - known as boller - are popular in Austria during special occasions including weddings - where they are traditionally used to let newly weds start their marriage with a bang.
Firemen said the cannon had overheated after being fired several times already, which ignited the gunpowder prematurely, causing an explosion.
The seriously injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital in Klagenfurt.
