Salzburg makes worlds best cream liqueur
Mozart Gold Chocolate Cream Liqueur has been awarded the title of the best cream liqueur in the world at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards 2012.
In the category cream/ dairy liqueur Mozart Gold was awarded the 'Double Gold Award' and was given the additional title best cream liqueur in the world and best in show.
Mozart liqueur is produced under the expertise of the world's only master distiller and master confectioner located in Salzburg.
The Double Gold Award is the highest prize you can win at the festival.
The Salzburg Chocolate Liqueur was awarded the gold award Mozart Dry Clear Chocolate Spirit was given a gold award in the Other White Spirits category.
Florian Iro, CEO at the Mozart Distillery in Salzburg, said: "We are very proud that the best cream liqueur in the world comes form Salzburg.
"From all the different cream liqueurs on offer Mozart Gold Chocolate Cream Liqueur was the only one to be awarded the Double Gold Award. That is quite an achievement. That is proof enough to us that Mozart liqueurs with the high quality product and attractive packaging is ready to become a well-known label around the world."
In its 12th year, 1,215 premium spirits were submitted from 60 countries. The San Francisco competition is the oldest and largest spirit competition in the United States and the most recognized in the world. 149 Double Gold Medals were awarded, 209 Gold Medals, 444 Silver Medals, and 258 Bronze Medals.
As well as cream liqueur other categories include vodka, gin and tequila.
An international jury of 34 experts did blind taste tests on all the categories
Mozart Gold Chocolate Cream is a pure milk chocolate liqueur. Mozart Gold id a cream liqueur made from cream and gourmet chocolate wit a taste mixture of Belgian chocolate, fresh cream with a hint of vanilla and cocoa mixed with the finest liqueur form sugar cane.
Mozart Black Chocolate Pure 87 is a dark chocolate variation made from 87 per cent cocoa.
Mozart Dry Chocolate Spirit is a clear high percentage spirit made from cocao, vanilla and sugar cane.
