Austrian found after getting lost in Croatia cycling trip
An elderly Austrian who went missing during a cycling outing in Croatia was found this morning (Thurs) after an all-night search in Croatia.
The 65-year-old man was reported missing to authorities in the town of Otocac in the country’s central Lika-Senj county by a friend last night after he could not reach him on his mobile phone.
The 41-year-old Austrian said his pal had lagged behind during the trip before he lost sight of him in woodlands.
The friends were reunited after police managed to locate his mobile around 8.45am this morning, according to the Croatian Times.
Local officials said the man was in good condition after having spent one night outdoors.
The incident comes just days after a 31-year-old Tyrolean suffered a broken leg in a fall sustained during a climbing trip in Croatia’s Velika Paklenica canyon.
