Parental safety call as kids trampoline injury figures jump
Doctors have appealed for parents to be more vigilant as the number of children involved in trampoline casualties rose dramatically.
Günther Schimpl, head of the children’s surgery at the Provincial Hospital Salzburg, said today: "We registered 200 trampoline accidents of children throughout last year. So far this year, we have recorded 350 cases."
Schimpl warned that children aged between two and six were most likely to injure themselves, especially when more than one used a trampoline at the same time.
He urged parents to watch their children more carefully when letting them use public or private trampolines.
