Graz boy survives five-metre glass roof plunge

A Graz boy must have a guardian angel watching over him as he survived a five-metre fall almost unharmed.

Local authorities said today (Thurs) two seven-year-old pals decided to climb a glass roof covering an inner courtyard at their apartment block.

The eight-millimetre thick cover gave way as one of the schoolmates started to jump on it. He fell around five metres and landed on the concrete floor.

Paramedics said the primary school student was not unconscious, adding he apparently did not suffer any serious injuries.

Doctors at the city’s LKH clinic are currently investigating the boy.

Another Styrian boy had to be hospitalised yesterday after falling out of a first-storey window.

The 18-month-old child opened the living room window as his mother left the room for a moment in Mureck.

He suffered undisclosed injuries.
