July inflation down to 1.9 per cent

The Austrian rate of inflation declined from 2.0 to 1.9 per cent year on year in July, returning to the same level as this past May.

Statistik Austria reported today (Mon) that the largest price increase had occurred in the categories of housing and fuel but that summer sales had lowered the prices of many consumer goods.

Year on year inflation in Austria in July was 1.7 per cent as calculated according the harmonised Euro-zone price index (HVPI).
