First international classes to begin in Tirol

Students at the Academischen Gymnasium School in Innsbruck, Tirol, will be able to take advantage of bilingual lessons from the start of the next academic year.

Lessons will take place in English and French and students will also have the opportunity to sit an international matura.

From September there will be an international class of 25 people. The aim is to improve foreign language knowledge and use.

Lessons in many subjects will be taught in the English language and in later classes also some in French.

Students will have the option to do the international Matura in addition to the Austrian Matura.

Tirol school inspector Adolfine Gschliesser said: "The aim of the international classes is to improve students language abilities and it will also helps students from other countries integrate easier into the school

International classes are already successful in other Austrian provinces it was reported.
