Life Ball 2013 is dedicated to 1001 Nights

Next year's Life Ball will be themed on the fairy tale '1001 Nights'.

"Saving lives with imagination" is the link between Life Ball 2013 and its entertaining yet sensual source of inspiration of the "1001 Nights" stories.

The date for the 21st Life Ball night has been set for 25 May 2013.

One Thousand and One Nights is a collection of West and South Asian stories and folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. It is often known in English as the Arabian Nights, and tells the story of the ruler Shahryār and his wife Scheherazade.

She in turns tells story of others to the king including the tale of "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp", "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" and "The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor".

Opulently designed, guests of Life Ball 2013 will be immersed into this fascinating world of poetry and fairy tales, mythical creatures and djinns, desirous poems and wise allegories – using fantasy to help people infected with HIV or suffering from AIDS.

"It will be challenging to combine the decelerated lifestyle of the Middle East with the Life Ball’s fast pace. The connection between these two worlds is pleasure, celebrated and enjoyed to the fullest: with sensuality and eroticism, music, dance, stimulating scents and a blaze of colours", Life Ball organizer Gery Keszler said explaining his philosophy for the 21st Life Ball night.

Using an old Arabic saying, Life Ball 2013 follows the motto: "It takes the night to see the stars" – for a future without HIV and AIDS. This vision, which can become true, was the common tenor at the World AIDS Conference 2012 in Washington D.C., where representatives of different international AIDS aid organizations agreed: "Together we can end AIDS".

For all those, who would like to participate at Life Ball 2013: Regular ticket sale starts in 2013 – advance reservations for VIP tables are already being accepted. Further information is available at www.lifeball.org.
