Vivienne Westwood gets first Viennese boutique

Iconic punk designer Vivienne Westwood is to open her first Austrian shop at Tuchlauben 12 in Vienna’s first district.

Fans of the British punk fashion designer are now able to buy Westwood's cloths on a 240 square meter shop. The couture service "made to measure" which was only available in London shops so far will be for sale in the new shop as well as Westwood's perfumes.

Her new fragrance "Cheeky Alice" is exclusively sold at the Viennese shop only. Men’s wear is not available.

The store belongs to a friend and old assistant of Westwood, Gregor Pirouzi, who says that he worked with her in the past and is a good friend of her family.

He also works with Nina Peter on her glove-label "Nina Peter Hautnah".

The controversial designer British Westwood has been recently given an air of perfectibility with the "Lady" title.

She originally wanted to become a writer before she met Malcom McLaren, the founder of the Sex Pistols. With him she opened her first boutique in 1970 in London.

But Vienna is no new territory for Vivienne Westwood. In the 1980s she was a visiting professor at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna.
