Schwarzenegger museum first birthday success
A museum dedicated to Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger at his childhood home in Thal near Graz Austria is celebrating a first successful year.
The museum which opened on Schwarzenegger’s birthday last year has something to celebrate after so many people visited the museum in the first year.
"More than 20,000 people came to the museum in its first year" confirmed Peter Urdl, Initiator of the museum.
"People visit from as far away as China, the USA, South America and of course Austria. We are well on the right track," he added.
"When Arnold is in the news with a new project interest in him is brought up again. Then visitors come."
Schwarzenegger is due to visit the museum in August where he is due to do some filming for a documentary.
Visitors can see the first weights that a teenage Arnie started body-building with, and sit behind his desk from his term as Governor of California.
Other exhibits include a life sized recreation of the star as his Terminator android.
The home - complete with all Arnie's family's furniture - was sold to a local museum trust in 2009 for 390,000 GBP and has taken two years to convert into a 'shrine' to the star.
