Cool music for the hot weather

Music to give you goose pimples is guaranteed after a huge prehistoric cave made of frozen ice was turned into a concert hall in the Dachstein mountain in Austria.

Organisers who described the event in the Dachstein Eishoehle ice cave as the ultimate in cool music say the acoustics are spectacular for the selection of international musicians who will play there.

To add to the atmosphere in the cave where the ice is up to 60 foot deep the musicians will use a piano made out of glass that matches the frozen surroundings - that has been in existence since the ice age.

The concerts begin on 3 August with Cellist Yvonne Timoianu and pianist Alexander Preda, with music from Ravel and Debussy. They will end on 31 August with the Simone Kopmajer-Jazz Trio playing music from their CD "Didn't you say".

Tickets cost 52 Euros or 37 Euros for children.
