Picnics in the park with a muscial background

The park and grounds of the privately owned Schlosspark of the Esterhazy family in Eisenstadt are going to be available for picnics from the summer.

Over four weekends in July and August special picnic concerts will aim to offer entertainment and a culinary experience at the same time.

The events are themed along set lines such as one about Viennese classics, another representing Spanish nights and another music from the USA.

All of the picnic hampers which can be purchased at the site offer things to match the music that is being played.

It is not however possible for visitors to bring their own food.

The music is independent of the weather as it will be played in the Haydnsaal. Among those performing will be the violinist Benjamin Schmidt.

The first picnic concert with the theme of the Viennese classics will take place on Saturday, 7 July at 19.30.
