Annie Lennox free Vienna gig details emerge
Details of a Vienna protest march attended by Annie Lennox and of a concert by the pop star have been announced.
Organisers of the Human Rights March 2010 said today (Tues) tens of thousands were expected to join the demonstration in the city centre of the Austrian capital on 20 July.
They said the march will begin at Schottentor at 8pm heading for Helden Square where Lennox will give a free concert until 10.30pm.
The former Eurythmics member has engaged in various human rights and HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns over the years.
The Vienna march will be part of the 18th International AIDS Conference. Tens of thousands of people from all over the world are expected to attend the summit from 18 to 23 July.
The congress will be kicked off by the 18th edition of the Life Ball. The charity event will take place at City Hall.
Former US President Bill Clinton, actress Whoopie Goldberg and model Liz Hurley will attend the ball, while singer Kylie Minogue is rumoured to be this year’s surprise VIP guest.
