Humanic ad mastermind Okopenko dies
Andreas Okopenko has died aged 80 at a hospital in Vienna, it was reported today (Mon).
The Slovakian-born writer who passed away yesterday is regarded as one of the most important contributors to Austria’s "avant-garde literature".
Okopenko was praised for his daring works. His best known is a marketing campaign for Humanic in which he experimented with parts of the Austrian shoe shop’s name.
He won several awards including the Golden Honour Medal of the City Vienna in 1995 and the Grand Austrian State Prize three years later.
