Salzburg´s economy less vulnerable then rest of Austria
The Austrian Economic Chamber (WKÖ) classifies the economy of Salzburg as less vulnerable than the rest of the country to the current global downturn.
Economic expert Helmut Eymannsberger says that Salzburg benefits from having a strong tourism presence.
But it also benefits from having many small and average-sized companies in various industries.
He says that the economy in Salzburg as a result is especially resistant to difficult economic times - and can be described as particularly stable.
Eymannsberger believes that local production companies in the steel business might suffer slightly but could also just as easily see no change as well.
