Controversial disco closes in Pongau
The 'Fledermaus' disco has announced it has gone into administration and will close with debts of 120.000 Euro.
The disco, located in St Johann in Pongau, in the Salzburg region has been shrouded in controversy since a 19-year-old was beaten to death in the disco's car park back in 2010.
As a result the closing hours of the disco were reduced to 1 AM instead of 4 AM as it had previously been.
The disco owners claim these reduced hours with the earlier closing time are the reasons for the bankruptcy of the once popular disco.
The disco had been run under various names such as 'E1' and 'Black Pearl' in recent months in an attempt to change its image, but this was unsuccessful and failed to win back disco goers.
Five staff and 38 creditors are affected by this decision.
