Car2Go soon to be available at Vienna airport
Car2go which has already proved successful in Vienna will be offering their services at Vienna Airport from August.
Car2go is a relatively new concept offering new possibilities in terms of transport. The driver can simply get in and go where they wish in the little Smart cars.
The company behind the concept was founded in 2008 in Ulm, Germany. It has now spread, offering their services in Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, United States and Austria.
Car2go first appeared in Austria in December 2011. It provided 500 cars and since then has recorded 300,000 customers using their car2go services.
It will now have parking spaces available next to the Vienna Airport, which it did not beforehand.
While the concept of car2go is straightforward, the methods used are not. The driver is charged 0.29 Euro per minute with a maximum of 12.90 Euro per hour or 39.00 Euro per day.
Stopover is also charged and so are certain benefits and repair costs.
While the fuel and certain parking spaces are paid for, there are still problems with the service.
There are only certain areas available for parking, otherwise the consumer will be charged for the service they might not even be using.
