SAG recruiting Spanish engineers to curb shortage

Salzburger Aluminium AG (SAG) located in Lend, Salzburg, is urgently recruiting engineers and specialist staff from Spain to combat the shortage of specialists at the plant.

SAG has already had 150 applications from Spaniards, confirmed SAG Board Member Karin Exner-Wöhrer.

"The Spanish applicants are very well qualified, young and motivated. They have very few openings on the Spanish job market. Every second young person under thirty does not have a job."

SAG sent over a manager to Spain to find suitable applicants. During this visit 12 interviews were carried out and three or four new technical staff were chosen.

These new employees were able to start immediately.

Exner-Wöhrer said: "Many of them speak good English and some can even speak a little German. They are expertly trained but had no opportunities in Spain.
