Market research firm goes bust
The market research company Klufamily in Treffen in Villach has gone into receivership.
The closure of the firm with debts of 611,320 Euros will affect 19 staff who have been told that the company will not be continued with.
According to the alpenländische Kreditorenverband (AKV) which represents creditors, bankruptcy proceedings have already been filed at the regional court in Klagenfurt.
The company has been in operation since 1992 and carries out market research and field work across Austria.
According to the AKV against the debts of 611,320 Euro are assets of 144,500 Euro - meaning a total debt of 466,820 Euro.
The creditors total about 20, mainly banks and staff as well as the social security and pension fund.
The company said that the reason for the insolvency was that they had been audited and discovered they had a much larger debt to the state than had been anticipated and it was no longer possible to clear this debt with existing resources.
