Ederer to start top Siemens job tomorrow
Brigitte Ederer is to take office as Siemens Human Resources boss tomorrow (Thurs).
The former Social Democratic (SPÖ) state secretary left politics in 2000 to enter Siemens Austria’s board before becoming its CEO five years later.
Ederer succeeds Siegfried Russwurm who is set to head the technology firm’s industrial operations department.
She will be in charge of policies considering the internationally-operating company’s 400,000-odd employees.
Wolfgang Hesoun, CEO of Vienna-based construction firm Porr, will take the hot seat as Siemens Austria head.
The firm opened a new office complex in Vienna earlier this month. Around 6,000 staff will work in the 150-million-Euro Siemens City Vienna in the city’s Floridsdorf.
